Busy as a Bee

The weather still is pretty wicked here. Seems just about when the sun starts to shine the rain comes out of nowhere. Just this week we have had torrential downpours and thundering skies, sleet and snow. So would you want to be anywhere else?????

We have been trying to check in on the bees but with the weather being the way it is, and of course after talking to my Uncle, we decided to leave things bee until the weather broke. We are going to use his spring management program this year. I'll keep you posted as to what we are doing and how things are going.

This years bees have been ordered, and we are only adding 10 additional hives. Hopefully we will be able to split what we have from last year when spring comes. We shall see.

A whole lot of talk about the bee collapse disease or whatever the heck they are calling that. I'm still not educated enough about it to speak to comfortably about it. I suppose the best thing that anyone can do is just stay tuned and read what you can about what's going on.

Working on the cookbook, boy it seems like I'm giving birth all over again, and folks at 50 it's not that great a feeling. . . Right about now I'm wishing I would have found a surrogate.
I'll keep you posted.

Son David will be home from Korea in less than five weeks and Jim and I along with the rest of his family are really looking forward to that time. He will be home just in time to help with the spring bees and pick morel mushrooms. Life is good.
