Happy Belated Valentines Day!

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted. Ok, I can believe. But honestly I've been pretty darned busy.

Here are a few photo's of the weather around here. The birdhouse looks pretty empty today. I understand now why they fly south. The other two pictures are taken from our deck towards the River. It froze across finally that evening. I told you it was cold!

Beeker's General Store in Pemberville, Ohio invited me in to be a part of their Victorian Valentines day celebration last weekend and I had a blast. The store is totally cool. When you walk in the door the floor boards just creek and when you look around the shelves are lined with "stuff" now I don't mean shiny sparkly straight out of the box stuff. What I mean are totally cool vintage stuff. There was a women there showing her antique valentine collection and the store had replicated valentines for sale scattered all through it. Everything in the store was really unique. Right across the aisle from where I set up there were some of those one piece red cotton long underwear for sale. Not only red but white, and not just one size for display but actual sizes folks. Jim almost got a pair but I started to think about how he would be able to get in and out of them while his hand was in a cast and I decided the long underwear would have to wait. There were all kinds of really cool things like kids games from back when I was little, sewing notions, food. Brown eggs in the refrigerator, "Take the ones you want." Old fashion gidgets and thing a ma bobs. I walked through that store on and off all day and I think I found something I hadn't seen the time before. What I'm trying to tell you is that it's one of those stores that you want to really spend time looking at. I know you will find something that you just can't live without!

Can you tell I had a real good time. They decided to carry our products and I got to sample and meet a whole lot of really nice folks. So if you are ever out that way. Stop in. I promise it's something that you will be glad you did.

I mentioned Jim (the better half) had a cast, well he finally decided he was in enough pain that it was time to get his wrist fixed. It's been something that has been coming on for awhile. When he told me that he had enough I knew it was pretty bad. Last Tuesday we checked into the hospital in the middle of our very first real winter storm and Jim had the surgery. Originally I was going to leave the hospital and come home to take care of all the critters but the snow and roads made that pretty impossible. I got to spend the night in one of those "not so comfortable" recliners next to him. He spent the week recouping at home and I've decided that the man can never retire unless he has a major project that he can physically do going on. He was a really rotten patient. I know he thinks he was great, but trust me he wasn't. People like him can't be told that he can't do something because in his mind that just isn't a rationale thought.

Enough about Jim, he is headed back to work. I feel soo sorry for them. I did get a few phone calls recently about people looking for bees. Spring packages have got to be ordered my March 1st. So if your interested just contact me and I'll give you the names and numbers of people who can help you out.

I'm only getting 10 packages this year. I've got more than enough to keep me busy right now. I also want to start seriously bringing the building into becoming a reality instead of a pipe dream. Jim is talking dog kennels and I need a honey house. . . .see why I'm glad he isn't at home anymore.

Oops I forgot to mention. I am working on the cookbook. I have a company that gave me a pretty reasonable quote for it and hopefully I will get that to print by Labor Day Weekend.

See I told you I was buzzzzy.

Have a great week!
